Artwork guidelines
Great print starts with great files. Follow these tips for the sharpest results.
Accepted file types
- Vector (best): SVG or PDF — scales to any size without quality loss.
- Raster: PNG (with transparency) or JPG — use the highest resolution available.
Resolution
- Aim for at least 150 DPI at the final print size (higher for small, detailed prints on pens, USB drives and engraving).
- The designer estimates your image DPI and warns you if it may print blurry.
Colour
- Screens use RGB; print uses CMYK — slight colour shifts are normal.
- For exact brand colours, add the Pantone reference in your order notes and SkyNova will match as closely as the method allows.
Safe area & placement
- Keep important elements inside the dashed safe area shown in the designer.
- Avoid placing detail right at the edge of the print area or trim.
Transparency & backgrounds
- Use a transparent PNG or vector if you don't want a background box printed.
- Remove any unwanted background before uploading.
